Pastor Brian teaches from Matthew 5, verses 31 and 32, on the purpose of marriage and the biblical reasons for divorce and remarriage. In the Garden, man’s aloneness was the only thing declared “not good.” So God provided Eve as a partner for Adam. Therefore, from the beginning, the first and primary purpose of marriage is companionship. But marriage is also to show the beauty of the love between Christ and his church. Because of this, Jesus made strong statements about divorce, but how should we apply his words to our lives today, given the abuse we see around us? Listen today for the answer.
