Pastor John Hwang hones in on the encounter between Jesus and Thomas from John 20:24–29. In these verses, Thomas moved from doubt to doxology because he saw the Risen Christ, from “I will not believe” to “My Lord and my God!" Doubts don’t have to be the end of faith; the shoulders of Jesus are strong enough to bear them. Past and present believers have struggled through the same kinds of thoughts and feelings, and they made it through with the help of God and his people to an even stronger, persevering faith. So don’t panic. Jesus sees your joys and sorrows, hopes and disappointments, settled thoughts and struggling doubts. Jesus knows them all and remains near you and with you. And Jesus is inviting you today to believe that he is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing, you may have life in his name!
