“I am thirsty!” John 19:28
Pastor Char Brodersen beckons us to take a deeper look at these words of Jesus from the Cross. This cry should take us back to the times in John’s Gospel when Jesus offered to quench the soul thirst of individuals—the woman at the well in chapter 4 and the multitudes in chapter 6. Then in chapter 7, he speaks of himself as “living water.” Again and again, Jesus is saying that he is what the world is looking for but cannot find. He is the source of all life, meaning, glory, joy, and peace. All other things will leave you dissatisfied and disillusioned. Jesus alone can quench your soul’s thirst. Come to him and be satisfied today!
